Standing Proudly at 10 Months {Bellevue Infant Photography}

Hello, everyone! I apologize for being MIA lately! I promise, I haven’t forgotten about you. These past few weeks have been crazy. Poor Milo has been teething (which = no sleep) and then he got a cold (which also = no sleep). We are recovering, and he is feeling much better! So, I took these shots back when Milo turned 10 months old. I really wanted to focus on his daily life, his favorite things to do and play with, where he is developmentally. This is such a fun time since he is so mobile and learning so much every day.

Derek and I call him our little jail-bird, as he loves to stand at the baby gate and rattle it – like he’s trying to escape.

He also loves dancing. I found it more difficult than I thought to capture his dancing, but this should give you an idea of how silly our boy is as he bobs his head back and forth!

Milo is becoming such a great reader! He loves his Curious George.

He also started clapping our hands for everything he does. He is rather proud of his accomplishments!

And of course, it wouldn’t be a monthly post without Sheepy!

A Baby’s 1st Snow {Baby Photography}

I’m going to be honest. I haven’t been a fan of snow since I was a kid. Even then it was in limited amounts. It is cold! But now that I have a son, I’m much more excited for the recent blast of snow we have received. Derek and I took the opportunity to bundle up the baby and take him to see the snow for the very first time. The only snowsuit we have for Milo is  at least 2 sizes too big, so he kind of disappears in it. He really wasn’t sure what to think at first.

He did try to play with the snow, but his mittens were also too big!

He really started to love it when daddy helped him walk through it.

I even got in there and played with him.

He was pooped after a short period of time. Maybe he is just like his mommy – liking warm places much better!

I hope everyone enjoys the white wonderland we have been given right now. Stay safe!

Into the Fog {Issaquah Family Portraits}

We were rather fortunate to have some beautiful weather in December. However, with the sunshine comes morning fog! I think it added such a great element to this family’s portrait session. We started outside and went for as long as the kids could tolerate the cold. I love this shot of mom and dad with Baby Sis. She’s at that stage where she loves standing proud, even if it means a little support from mom.

Big Brother was all smiles, but he wanted to have his bike in the shot. I have learned to go with a child’s suggestion, they are often right! I think he was spot on with this one. He shows how he’s independent right now, but the rest of the family is nearby cheering him on!

We also had a fun time on the swings. She is one happy baby.

And of course, another shot of a mom and her baby girl.I think they will both cherish this shot for years to come.

It was such a pleasure getting to know your family. I adore both of your children. I am excited to watch them grow up!

A Holiday Affair {Seattle Family Portraits}

Another one of my favorite families (Milo’s too!) is featured in today’s post! When they asked me to capture not only their immediate family but the extended family for her mom’s birthday I was so excited. It was so much fun getting to know her family and put faces with names. For this post, I’m going to focus on Baby B, because she was so adorable in her red Christmas dress.

I just love this picture in front of the tree. The colorful lights from the tree provide a great backdrop, while you can’t get enough of her face! I love that mischievous look!

Mom and Dad wanted to capture her with her fingers in her mouth since that is a big detail in her life right now. I guess it is a trademark that her auntie used to do when she was Baby B’s age!

I had to include this last photo of Baby B’s aunt and uncle and their babies! I love how one is interacting with daddy!

From 3 to 4 – Part I {Snoqualmie Maternity Portraits}

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Things around my house were so crazy, with it being Milo’s first Christmas, and the photography business being booked solid. Despite it getting pretty hectic at time, I could not feel more blessed. Milo’s first Christmas was a complete success. I will share pictures soon!

I want to start the year off with a couple of sessions that are close to my heart! This family is one of my favorites. I have known mom since high school, and it has been wonderful watching her family grow from one to two to three, and now to four! After Thanksgiving we did their maternity session at her mom’s home in North Bend. It was the perfect location. I just loved the woods and the feeling created by the surroundings. And their little girl is just too cute! I can hardly believe that I was taking her “in the belly shots” just over 2 years ago. Now look at her, a proud sister-to-be here!

Mom and Dad are so amazing. They make sure to take time for themselves. They even took a “baby-moon” before this baby arrived. So I knew I had to focus on just the two of them as well.

We also wanted to recreate a couple of the shoots they did for their first maternity session. This was one of my favorites!

This next one shows how fun mom is! She climbed up onto this huge log with her boots on. I’m pretty sure dad was a little nervous watching!

Thank you for letting me continue to capture your family. I love you all so much, it is quite the honor to be a part of so many special memories!

Stay tuned for Part II, tomorrow, where we introduce you to their newest addition!

Merry Christmas from Milo

This will be my last post of the year! I’m taking time to catch up, spend with my boy, and am even working on redesigning my website/blog/packaging. 2012 is going to be a great year for Neyssa Lee Photography. I am so excited to share it with everyone, so stay tuned! If I captured your family in late 2011, don’t worry. You’ll be on the blog next year!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. I can’t even begin to explain how special it was to share Milo’s first Christmas with family and friends. Derek and I are so lucky to have such an amazing group of people who love and support us as we raise our first child! Last week, Milo turned 9 months old (sniff, sniff). This has been the most exciting past few weeks yet. We did so many festive things to celebrate the season. Milo enjoyed Christmas shopping for all of his loved ones. Just a couple of days ago he discovered how to crawl. He isn’t a pro yet, but if he really wants to get something, he will take off after it! He also spent Christmas morning learning that wrapped presents are the perfect size to pull yourself up. He managed to pull himself up to standing. My boy is getting so big. I will share a few pictures from the busy weekend early next year, but I thought I’d end the year with a few pictures from his 9 month session!

We will start with the traditional sheepy picture. This image captures him at this moment exactly – off in the background trying to get into the presents!

If you haven’t heard of you have to check it out! I found this beautiful santa hat custom-made for my little guy’s big head from Crochet2Love1. Beckie was so great and even had the hat ready in time for the holidays for me! If you are looking for a little hat for your cutie, I would highly recommend her site!

Milo, however, wasn’t sure about the hat. It was so soft and adorable, but as with most hats, he found that it was more fun taking it off his head! So, I gave him something he’d enjoy playing with even more – a Christmas present!

He just loves his daddy so much. Derek was playing peek-a-boo with him. I love that smile!

And here comes the mobile baby!

Here’s wishing you a Happy New Year! We will see you soon!
