Milo’s Valentine’s Day Message

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This year I feel so lucky that I get to spend it with my two favorite boys, Derek and Milo.

But enough from me. Milo has a very special message for you this Valentine’s Day!

Standing Proudly at 10 Months {Bellevue Infant Photography}

Hello, everyone! I apologize for being MIA lately! I promise, I haven’t forgotten about you. These past few weeks have been crazy. Poor Milo has been teething (which = no sleep) and then he got a cold (which also = no sleep). We are recovering, and he is feeling much better! So, I took these shots back when Milo turned 10 months old. I really wanted to focus on his daily life, his favorite things to do and play with, where he is developmentally. This is such a fun time since he is so mobile and learning so much every day.

Derek and I call him our little jail-bird, as he loves to stand at the baby gate and rattle it – like he’s trying to escape.

He also loves dancing. I found it more difficult than I thought to capture his dancing, but this should give you an idea of how silly our boy is as he bobs his head back and forth!

Milo is becoming such a great reader! He loves his Curious George.

He also started clapping our hands for everything he does. He is rather proud of his accomplishments!

And of course, it wouldn’t be a monthly post without Sheepy!

A Baby’s 1st Snow {Baby Photography}

I’m going to be honest. I haven’t been a fan of snow since I was a kid. Even then it was in limited amounts. It is cold! But now that I have a son, I’m much more excited for the recent blast of snow we have received. Derek and I took the opportunity to bundle up the baby and take him to see the snow for the very first time. The only snowsuit we have for Milo is  at least 2 sizes too big, so he kind of disappears in it. He really wasn’t sure what to think at first.

He did try to play with the snow, but his mittens were also too big!

He really started to love it when daddy helped him walk through it.

I even got in there and played with him.

He was pooped after a short period of time. Maybe he is just like his mommy – liking warm places much better!

I hope everyone enjoys the white wonderland we have been given right now. Stay safe!

Merry Christmas from Milo

This will be my last post of the year! I’m taking time to catch up, spend with my boy, and am even working on redesigning my website/blog/packaging. 2012 is going to be a great year for Neyssa Lee Photography. I am so excited to share it with everyone, so stay tuned! If I captured your family in late 2011, don’t worry. You’ll be on the blog next year!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. I can’t even begin to explain how special it was to share Milo’s first Christmas with family and friends. Derek and I are so lucky to have such an amazing group of people who love and support us as we raise our first child! Last week, Milo turned 9 months old (sniff, sniff). This has been the most exciting past few weeks yet. We did so many festive things to celebrate the season. Milo enjoyed Christmas shopping for all of his loved ones. Just a couple of days ago he discovered how to crawl. He isn’t a pro yet, but if he really wants to get something, he will take off after it! He also spent Christmas morning learning that wrapped presents are the perfect size to pull yourself up. He managed to pull himself up to standing. My boy is getting so big. I will share a few pictures from the busy weekend early next year, but I thought I’d end the year with a few pictures from his 9 month session!

We will start with the traditional sheepy picture. This image captures him at this moment exactly – off in the background trying to get into the presents!

If you haven’t heard of you have to check it out! I found this beautiful santa hat custom-made for my little guy’s big head from Crochet2Love1. Beckie was so great and even had the hat ready in time for the holidays for me! If you are looking for a little hat for your cutie, I would highly recommend her site!

Milo, however, wasn’t sure about the hat. It was so soft and adorable, but as with most hats, he found that it was more fun taking it off his head! So, I gave him something he’d enjoy playing with even more – a Christmas present!

He just loves his daddy so much. Derek was playing peek-a-boo with him. I love that smile!

And here comes the mobile baby!

Here’s wishing you a Happy New Year! We will see you soon!

Thankful for 8 Months {Bellevue Infant Portraits}

Last week we had two special occasions in our family, Thanksgiving and Milo turned 8 months. I, of course, had to take a few shots of Milo with sheepy to show how much he’s grown. But I couldn’t decide which one I like best. I think this one is my favorite…

But how can you not love the look on his face here? You decide, leave a comment letting me know which is your favorite!

Derek decided that he wanted to host Thanksgiving this year. I was hesitant at first, but it turned out wonderfully. We were able to invite people from both sides of the family, and share what we are most thankful for this year, Milo. He was such a ham, too. Waiting for people to clap for him, smiling, and playing. Before everyone arrived though, we took a few pictures of us all dressed up!

This next one shows Milo’s excited face. He is mid “lap clapping” since he hasn’t figured out how to clap his hands together quite yet!

Derek picked out these adorable shoes. I couldn’t get enough of them…

and neither could my boy!

After dinner we took a group shot. We thought that silly was the best way to be.

I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!

Confidence Workshop on Me Ra Koh’s Blog

Last month, I attended Me Ra Koh’s photography workshop in Tacoma, WA. You may recall my 2 part blog posts (part 1 & part 2). Well, I’m proud to say that Me Ra has written a blog post on the workshop. Day One and Two are on her blog! I am excited to say she picked one of my favorite images I took while practicing with the babies and one from the families! Please take the time to hear her perspective on the weekend.

As for me, I’m working on a few fall sessions along with enjoying this time of year with the family! This month, stay tuned for some great Halloween pictures.
